Happy First Birthday Merrick

Merrick turned 1!! I can't believe he is already 1 year old. I think most moms probably say this. We had to celebrate this wonderful child, so we through him an "Under the Sea" birthday party in my parents back yard. We had a slip N slide and a couple blow up pools and other fun water activities going on. The kids had fun just playing and getting wet. Playing in the water is one of Merrick's most favorite things to do as well as eating, so we made sure we covered both.
I just have to say I am one of those mom's who is completely obsessed with their kid and could go on and on about all of the silly and wonderful things he does every day (Just ask my mom), but for everyone else's sake I will try to keep it to a minimum. Some things that Merrick is doing right now are:
~Waves and smiles at everyone
~ Loves to play in the water, and sticks his face in the water whenever possible
~ Can flush the toilet
~ Loves to eat and opens his mouth as Big as physically possible for every bite of food
~ Fruit, bread and noodles are his favorite
~ He loves dogs and tries to say Dog and laughs when i say Ruff Ruff
~ Can stand not holding on to anything for quite a few seconds
~ Has taken about 3 steps on his own
~ Claps his hands whenever we say "Yeah" or "Good Job"
~ Loves to play in sand
~ He is the BEST snuggle bug ever, especially right after he wakes up
~He has 2 teeth on bottom and 2 making there way down on top
~ He loves to talk and talk and talk and yell and growl and scream and point at everything
~ He is just starting to wear size 18 month clothes
~ He likes to try and put the lids on things and is pretty good at it
I could go on and on but I will stop for now. We love our little bug!


Some of you may have seen this cake in last months parents magazine. It was quite the task to take on but I had fun making it. Thanks to some help from my mom I think it turned out pretty ok. It definitely tasted good! (Sorry it's not the best picture)

Merrick LOVED eating his cake. I would say he probably ate 3/4 of it. the other 1/4 went all over him and the floor. There was not much left on his tray by the time he was done. He was pretty intense about it the whole time too. It was his first time really eating sugar like that and needless to say he carried on playing for another 3 hours after his party before I could get him to take a nap which then only lasted 30 min. He slept good the next few days.






This picture was suppose to be taken on Father's Day but Merrick slept through church so we took it the next Sunday on his actual birthday. I got them matching ties for Father's Day, Oh so cute!!

ANOTHER BOY!!!!!

Andrew and I just found out we'll be having another little boy. We couldn't be more excited to have a little playmate for Merrick. I'm sure they will be the best of buddies. Yes for those of you who haven't heard I am having another baby! The due date is Nov. 6 so right around the corner.
That makes me almost 20 weeks. It's very exciting but I am a little nervous to be having them so close. I'm sure we will survive somehow.

Merrick is 11 Months! Plus all the other good stuff

Merrick turned 11 months on Thursday. I can't believe he will be 1 year in just 1 month. So crazy. He even managed to get his first little black eye. And like a good mom I have no idea how he did it. Ooops.

He is also teething and getting his top teeth in. It's been a rough couple days but we are surviving.
His hair is starting to get longer so it's laying flat more, but it was sticking up after a bath so I just had to try and get a pic, of course Merrick couldn't resist going after the camera.
Andrew bought a juicer and is having fun making us delicious juices every morning. As you can see Merrick just finished enjoy his spinach carrot apple and strawberry juice. MMMM one of our favorites.
Here is a pic in our new house. Andrew is getting back into the guitar and Merrick loves to help sing and play.
We went to Sand Hallow Lake with some friends for a picnic and we set Merrick down by the water and he just took off crawling straight into the lake. Little did he know it would get deeper and deeper. He soon realized and started to panic. It was pretty funny. He had a great time.


Andrew and I had our 4 year Anniversary on the 13th. Andrew worked all day so I tried to surprise him with tickets to go see Brian Reagan at Tuachan but of course he found out but we had a great time and laughed our heads off. My cheeks hurt so bad by the end of the night. It's been a happy 4 years and I can't wait for the next 4 years and many more after that.

This Weekends Adventures

We had a fun weekend with the cousins. Merrick loves playing in the water so he loved all these fountains and pools of water to splash around in. Who better to play in the water with than his cousins Mia and Dane.






Happy Mother's Day to all you beautiful Mother's. I am so thankful for my mom who has always been the best example on how to be a wonderful and selfless mother. I hope someday I can be as wonderful as a mother as she is!

10 Months old Today

I can't hardly believe it! Merrick is 10 months old today. Tues. April 27, 10. These pictures are obviously about a month old on Easter. I've been meaning to put them up but have been too busy doing other stuff. So I just decided I would put them on today. Some things Merrick is doing these days are: Crawling everywhere, pulling himself up on things, loves books, wants to eat everything we are eating, loves to give hugs and slobbery kisses, loves to grab my nose, loves to play with otis (our dog), LOVES to be outside, loves to play in the water, plays catch with the ball, claps, is learning how to wave, tries to say different words but it just comes out as different sounds, hates putting on clothes and especially PJ's, hates holding still while I change his diaper, Loves playing with Grandma, Grandpa, and cousins, and he makes me smile and laugh all day every day. We love you Merrick!!!

We stumbled upon this sea lion on our morning walk

Merrick absolutely loved the sand! He had to have eaten cups full of sand.

This is the yard of our friends Devin and Dreanne who graciously let us stay at their home while they were away.

This was where we fled to when the Tsunami was supposed to hit. Those are all the cars down in the field and then we hiked up to a hill where we were hoping we would see the Tsunami come in, fortunately nothing happened.

These were down on the west side, Makaha. The waves were beauitful!

Eventually he got used to the water. It freaked him out a little when it would rush up his legs fast. He loved the calm water.
