My First Mother's Day

I flew home from New York early Mother's Day morning just in time for church. Little did I know Andrew was very excited for me to be home and to celebrate my first Mother's Day. He had flowers for me at home with my favorite mint chocolates. We then drove into D.C. and spent the day touring around the sites and visiting museums. We had a great time and saw lots of cool stuff. Needless to say my feet survived another day of walking around for hours. Thanks Andrew for making me feel so special on this Mother's Day even though I don't quite feel like a mother yet. Soon enough I'm sure.

I think I'm just over 32 weeks here so just passing through my eighth month. Wow time is flying by Soooo fast.

Viva New York

I was fortunate enough to get to fly up and hang out with Katelin and Allison for a few days in New York a week or so ago. We had a really great time hanging out on Long Island doing some shopping and playing with Katelin's old nanny kids. We also took one day in the city and toured around for a bit, then went to the musical In the Heights. It was wonderful! I must say though being eight months pregnant and walking around New York all day was quite taxing on the feetsies, they would have definitely loved a little rub. (I didn't take very many pics for some reason, so this is all I've got).

Happy Easter Day

I know this post may be coming a little late but I thought I would share with everyone our wonderful Easter Day and the colorful eggs we colored. We invited over all our friends and family who had made it out to Virginia so far for a nice Easter ham dinner and then we colored Easter eggs and played some Killer Bunnies! We had a lovely time.

Firts Trip to D.C.

We made it to Virginia in perfect time for the Cherry Blossom Festival in D.C. We knew nothing about this festival but our friend Sheila told us that between the last week in March and the first week in April is the only time during the whole year you can see the cherry blossoms, so we figured we had to go since we arrived to Virginia on April 3 we knew we didn't have much time left. It was a little crazy getting there with traffic but once we found a park it was well worth the wait. We were surprised to find the cherry blossoms were right in the midst of of all the major National sites or what most people call the National Mall. So we were excited to see all of these historic sites that we had only seen in the movies for so long. It was a gorgeous day and was so fun to hang out with friends and family and be a tourist for the day taking lots of pictures. We can thank Andrew for most of the pictures, he is becoming quite the photographer!!

























































As you can see our little boy is getting bigger and bigger. I am about 7 months in these pictures and definitely have the belly to prove it!

Our Trip Across America

Andrew and I took off from Salt Lake City on March 29 for our trip across America to Fairfax Virginia, our new home for awhile. It was pretty scary getting out of SLC because a storm was coming in and we had to drive through the mountains in a blizzardy storm. We made it out alive and got ahead of the storm by our second day. Along the way we took a detour to Nauvoo Illinois and spent a day touring Nauvoo and Carthage. We were lucky enough to get to attend an endowment session at the Nauvoo Temple and really enjoyed the experience. We learned a lot about some of the things the early pioneers went through that I hadn't realized before. It was a great stop!





We also decided before we headed back on the road that we wanted to stop at Carthage Jail which was just a few miles away. We got to take a tour of the Jail and learn some more great facts about what it was like for the saints back in those days. I am forever greatful to those courageous saints and the struggles they went through.
Andrew was very artistic with this photograph. It is a picture of the window Joseph fell from looking threw a bullet hole from the mobs.

Baby Shower!!

Alisha and my mom were sweet enough to throw me a baby shower
before I moved. My mom did an amazing job and made this diaper cake all by herself. I was so impressed!

It was so fun to have friends and family come and celebrate this new little life that we are so greatly anticipating. Thanks everyone for all your love and support!

Zion's National Park Getaway

Andrew and I decided Monday night that we needed a short getaway trip before heading to Virginia and Andrew is put back to work full time. So we booked a hotel room for 2 nights up in Zion National Park. This trip was well needed, and we had an amazing time. We went for hikes, picnicked, had boat races in the river, went swimming, ate at nice restaurants and went to the I MAX movies. We loved relaxing in nature, enjoying the peace and the beautiful creations of God.




Andrew found this pretty blooming tree all by itself in the middle of a large field so we stopped to take some fun pictures.


On our way home we stopped by Andrew's mom's new home close to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes. We raod 4-wheelers all around the beautiful desert and had fun visiting with Geri and seeing her new life.
